Description

Manage, optimize, and enhance database platforms across on-premises and cloud environments
Configure and maintain Oracle and PostgreSQL databases throughout development, testing, and production
Deliver database upgrades, migrations, patches, and version changes across on-premises and AWS environments
Monitor and improve database performance, availability, capacity, and structural design
Tune SQL and PL/SQL queries, indexes, and database objects
Design and run backup, recovery, replication, and high-availability solutions
Administer AWS database environments using RDS, Aurora, EC2, S3, IAM, and CloudWatch
Apply database security, authorization, and access-control practices to meet compliance requirements
Handle incidents and troubleshooting while driving continuous improvement across the database landscape
Partner with development and application teams on database design, performance, and integration

Requirements

Professional experience as an Oracle and/or PostgreSQL Database Administrator
Working knowledge of Oracle, PostgreSQL, and AWS database services
Experience with performance tuning, monitoring, backup and recovery, and high-availability solutions
Strong command of SQL, PL/SQL, and relational database principles
Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS
Expertise in database security and user and role administration
Background supporting business-critical production environments and incident management
Good German and English language skills
Knowledge of Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and PostgreSQL replication is advantageous
Experience automating tasks with Bash or Python is advantageous
