Senior Data Engineer (Snowflake, dbt) – Spain Remote
Senior Data Engineer role focused on building data architectures and scalable ELT/ETL processes with Snowflake and dbt. Cívica supports large organizations in their digital transformation through data and software engineering.
Description
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable ELT/ETL processes in cloud environments
- Design and optimize data models in Snowflake
- Develop transformations and business logic with dbt
- Apply analytical modeling, data validation, and data quality standards
- Optimize SQL queries, data structures, performance, and operating costs in Snowflake
- Work with business, BI, and architecture teams to turn analytical requirements into technical solutions
- Document models, data lineage, business rules, and processes
- Manage cross-environment deployments, code reviews, and version control
- Contribute to Cívica’s team over the long term
Requirements
- More than five years of experience as a Data Engineer
- Advanced SQL knowledge
- Strong experience with Snowflake
- Experience with dbt, including tests, documentation, macros, and dependency management
- Knowledge of analytical modeling, dimensional models, data layers, and data marts
- Experience with Git and version control
- Knowledge of software development best practices and data quality
- Python experience is a plus
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus
- Experience with process orchestration tools is a plus
- Airflow experience is a plus
- Self-direction and strong organizational skills
