Senior Data Engineer (Cloud Data) – India Remote | phData
Build secure, scalable cloud data solutions for enterprise clients at phData, a data and AI consultancy. Lead data pipelines, architectures, integrations, and production deployments across client engagements.
Description
- Design, build, and productionize secure, scalable, high-performing cloud data solutions.
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of data solutions and pipelines for enterprise clients.
- Translate business needs into technical data architectures, integration patterns, and data models.
- Ensure production solutions meet performance, security, reliability, and scalability standards.
- Deliver client engagements on schedule, within scope, and with measurable business value.
- Partner with engineering, analytics, platform, architecture, engagement, and client teams.
- Provide technical leadership in design reviews, code reviews, proofs of concept, and implementation workshops.
- Maintain deliverable quality through testing, documentation, governance, and change management.
- Find opportunities to expand engagements, improve delivery, and standardize reusable components and patterns.
- Create accelerators, templates, playbooks, and best practices for cloud data platforms.
- Develop reusable technical documentation, architectures, roadmaps, and operational runbooks.
- Mentor colleagues and share expertise through coaching and communities of practice.
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- At least four years of experience as a software engineer or data engineer building and deploying production-grade data solutions.
- Ability to take end-to-end technical solutions into production, emphasizing performance, security, scalability, and reliable data integration.
- Proficiency in Python and/or Scala for data processing, automation, and orchestration.
- Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, AWS, Azure, and/or Databricks.
- Strong SQL skills, including writing, debugging, and optimizing complex queries.
- Experience preparing and delivering detailed technical presentations for clients and internal stakeholders.
- Experience creating solution documentation such as proofs of concept, roadmaps, sequence diagrams, class hierarchies, and logical system views.
- Experience delivering projects for external or internal clients in professional services or consulting.
- Ability to structure complex problems into actionable steps and drive them through completion.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills for client-facing work.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across distributed and cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ownership, prioritization, and consistent delivery of high-quality work with limited supervision.
- Four-year bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline.
