Senior Data Engineer – AWS and Databricks

Description
- Design and improve data engineering solutions with AWS and Databricks
- Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for scalability, performance, and reliability
- Model data to meet analytical and business needs
- Create ingestion, transformation, and integration workflows from multiple sources
- Process large datasets using sound engineering practices and distributed computing
- Optimize Databricks workloads for efficiency and quality
- Use AWS services and resources to develop and maintain data solutions
- Apply data quality, monitoring, validation, and governance controls
- Collaborate with business and technology teams to turn requirements into technical solutions
- Document solutions, processes, and pipelines for traceability and maintainability
- Help identify and resolve data, pipeline, and performance issues
Requirements
- Substantial experience working as a Senior Data Engineer
- Demonstrated experience using Databricks in enterprise environments
- Hands-on experience with AWS and its data engineering services
- Advanced SQL skills and experience with data modeling
- Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines
- Understanding of large-scale data processing and modern data architectures
- Experience with Python and/or PySpark
- Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases
- Experience combining data from multiple sources
- Knowledge of data quality, governance, and security practices
- Ability to work independently and responsibly on enterprise projects
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with technical and business stakeholders
- Preferred: experience with Lakehouse architecture
- Preferred: knowledge of Delta Lake
- Preferred: experience with AWS Glue, S3, Redshift, Lambda, or Kinesis
- Preferred: knowledge of CI/CD, Git, and DevOps practices for data engineering
- Preferred: experience with pipeline orchestration tools
- Preferred: experience modernizing cloud data platforms
- Preferred: experience in customer service environments or developing business-focused solutions
