Senior Computer Vision Software Engineer — Hybrid in Palo Alto

Build embedded computer vision and AI capabilities for Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies’ automotive systems. Improve real-time perception and inference across CPUs, GPUs, NPUs, and other heterogeneous hardware.

Description

  • Create and integrate advanced computer vision and artificial intelligence capabilities.
  • Profile and optimize vision and AI pipelines for real-time execution across CPUs, GPUs, NPUs, and other accelerators.
  • Design software architectures for complex computer vision and AI workflows with low latency and efficient power use.
  • Partner with product, research, and engineering teams to bring AI models and vision solutions into production products.
  • Prototype and refine algorithms for perception and inference challenges.
  • Build embedded software systems for demanding, high-performance applications.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in C++.
  • Proven ability to implement and optimize code and compute workloads on embedded heterogeneous hardware, including CPUs, GPUs, NPUs, and DSPs.
  • Substantial practical experience applying computer vision methods.
  • Experience working with libraries such as OpenCV.
  • Background implementing deep learning inference pipelines.
  • Solid command of algorithms, data structures, and software architecture.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with imaging and video pipelines, including ISPs, sensors, RTSP, and H.264/H.265, is preferred.
  • Experience with OpenCL and OpenGL is preferred.
