Senior Cloud Platform Engineer
Lead Azure infrastructure and cloud modernization for a federal digital evidence platform, with a focus on secure automation, governance, and reliability.
Description
- Accredit and launch a digital evidence platform for a federal government client.
- Build and maintain Azure infrastructure using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
- Create automated deployment pipelines with infrastructure as code and CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
- Set and uphold cloud governance, security, and compliance standards across Azure environments.
- Lead complex infrastructure initiatives spanning automation, monitoring, resilience, and cost optimization.
- Work with engineering teams to assess technical needs and shape solutions aligned with enterprise requirements.
- Diagnose and resolve advanced Azure issues across networking, identity, compute, storage, and AKS.
- Guide junior and mid-level cloud engineers and lead technical work in infrastructure as code and cloud modernization.
- Document deployments, architectures, reusable patterns, and operational procedures.
- Track Azure developments and recommend tools and practices that improve reliability, performance, and engineering efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- At least five years of hands-on experience in cloud platform engineering, SRE, or DevOps.
- Experience supporting large, distributed systems in the Federal Government.
- Minimum Public Trust; U.S. citizenship and ability to maintain a High Risk Public Trust designation are required.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Azure, AKS, and Kubernetes operations; AWS experience may be accepted instead of Azure experience.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Docker, Helm, and Kustomize.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Terraform, Terragrunt, and modular infrastructure as code.
- Strong experience with GitOps, Argo CD, and GitHub workflows.
- Strong experience with Azure Monitor and Log Analytics/KQL.
- Able to work independently with minimal guidance.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical teams.

- Available full time during core Eastern Time business hours.
- May need to provide support outside core business hours for outages, updates, upgrades, and other needs.
