Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Experience
Build Airbnb’s cloud infrastructure platform with Kubernetes, APIs, automation, and AI agent workflows. Help engineering teams provision and manage services and support AI and machine learning workloads.
Description
- Build secure, efficient, highly available platform frameworks that reduce infrastructure complexity
- Improve existing systems’ availability, efficiency, and readiness for AI-native workflows
- Create APIs and tools for service management and large-scale provisioning
- Use and extend open-source projects such as Kubernetes and Argo CD, contributing improvements upstream where useful
- Develop agent-driven workflows with change previews and validation
- Work with service owners and partner teams to make workflows easier to use
- Troubleshoot production issues and strengthen system reliability and visibility
- Build interfaces and agent-driven tools to provision and manage services throughout their lifecycle
- Partner across Airbnb to develop cloud capabilities for AI and machine learning workloads
Requirements
- Degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- At least five years of professional software engineering experience
- Experience building developer platforms or large-scale infrastructure interfaces, such as APIs, command-line tools, or declarative configuration
- Deep knowledge of some of the following: Kubernetes, cluster lifecycle management, infrastructure automation, public cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure), and IaaS offerings
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering teams
- Strong problem-solving skills and production debugging experience
- Must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity
- Experience building tool- or API-using AI agents and evaluating their behavior, contributing to open-source infrastructure projects, or building Kubernetes controllers is an advantage
