Senior Cloud Engineer (Remote, United States)

Lead AWS infrastructure and enterprise platform operations for General Dynamics Information Technology in a remote U.S. role. Support secure healthcare data exchange and initiatives addressing fraud, waste, and abuse.

Description

  • Operate AWS cloud infrastructure and enterprise platforms supporting data ingestion, analytics, and partner applications
  • Manage Windows Server, Active Directory, Amazon WorkSpaces, and secure file-transfer services
  • Work with data analytics, data engineering, security, web development, and external healthcare partner teams
  • Design and deliver infrastructure solutions for secure data exchange
  • Resolve vulnerabilities and maintain platforms with current security and software updates
  • Automate recurring operations with AI tools, serverless services, infrastructure as code, and related technologies
  • Manage and automate systems for resilience, performance, and reliability
  • Advance the Healthcare Fraud Prevention Partnership Trusted Third Party mission to combat fraud, waste, and abuse

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least three years of relevant cloud engineering experience
  • Production administration and support experience with core AWS services, including EC2, ECS, S3, Route 53, VPC, IAM, Elastic Load Balancing, RDS, and CloudWatch
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, SSH/SFTP, and firewalls
  • Hands-on experience implementing infrastructure as code with AWS CloudFormation or comparable automation frameworks
  • Experience supporting Linux and Windows operating systems in enterprise or production settings
  • Proficiency in Python, Bash, PowerShell, or another applicable programming language
  • Experience managing cloud-hosted enterprise applications, including upgrades, patching, troubleshooting, and availability
  • Experience supporting Active Directory user and group administration, group policy, application integrations, and multifactor authentication services
  • Background in vulnerability and patch management
  • Experience in a 24/7 production operation involving ticket workflows, incident response, root-cause analysis, and change management
  • Strong written and spoken communication abilities
  • AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect Associate, SysOps Administrator Associate, or comparable cloud credentials
  • Experience administering commercial off-the-shelf software
  • Experience supporting Amazon WorkSpaces and endpoint protection solutions
  • Experience operating multi-account AWS environments with AWS Organizations, service control policies, and centralized governance
  • Experience with cloud security and compliance frameworks such as NIST, CIS benchmarks, FedRAMP, or FISMA
  • Experience maintaining STIG-hardened machine images and automated image-building pipelines
  • Familiarity with AWS Systems Manager, PDQ Deploy, or similar tools
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering tools including Claude Code or Amazon Q Developer
  • U.S. citizenship is not required
  • A security clearance is not required
