Senior Business Analyst - EDC (Hybrid, Canada)

Senior Business Analyst role with Export Development Canada, focused on translating business needs into digital solutions. The position covers requirements, testing, stakeholder coordination, process analysis, and agile delivery.

Description

  • Translate business needs into clear, practical documentation
  • Explain complex technical solutions to non-specialist audiences
  • Present complex issues to stakeholders and help develop resolutions
  • Identify business changes driven by new technology and digital capabilities
  • Apply critical thinking, concepts, and data to solve problems
  • Support strategy development and planning with a team leadership perspective
  • Interpret and communicate the digital channel product roadmap
  • Align testing strategy with requirements and the delivered product
  • Use current AI tools and concepts in business analysis work
  • Analyze processes, applications, products, strategy, and customer needs
  • Evaluate how solutions affect workflows, applications, processes, and data
  • Lead presentations and facilitate requirements and gap review sessions
  • Build agreement around recommendations and resolutions
  • Produce clear, comprehensive, fit-for-purpose documentation
  • Ensure analysis work and outcomes meet EDC standards
  • Work with digital teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders
  • Maintain constructive relationships and manage expectations
  • Anticipate, prepare for, and manage organizational change
  • Assist business experts with user acceptance testing and operational readiness
  • Help strengthen team maturity and agile practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, computer science, engineering, or a related field
  • At least seven years of experience as a management systems analyst or in a comparable role
  • Strong knowledge of agile delivery practices and the roles and activities required for large-scale programs
  • Experience with technical implementation and the project life cycle, including knowledge of the systems development life cycle
  • In-depth knowledge of Azure DevOps, JIRA, Confluence, or other requirements management tools
  • Excellent research and analytical abilities
  • Ability to create tactical plans and guidelines from broad strategic direction
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and business audiences
  • Strong listening abilities
  • Strong relationship management skills, including group facilitation and project team leadership
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Good understanding of cybersecurity principles and their use during requirements elicitation
  • Ability to meet government security requirements
  • Preference for candidates legally authorized to work in Canada when applying
  • Graduate certificate in management systems analysis, CBAP, IIBA Agile Analysis Certification, or willingness to obtain one; an asset
  • Graduate certificate in management systems analysis; an asset
  • Agile certification such as DASM or a comparable credential; an asset
  • Experience in finance, digital channels, financial services, or lending; an asset
