Senior Backend Engineer – Python & AWS (Hybrid, Berlin)

Description
- Develop and evolve the AWS backend architecture
- Build efficient Lambda functions with suitable frameworks
- Adopt modern unit, integration, and end-to-end testing practices
- Improve performance and scalability with PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and caching
- Advance the team’s development and documentation practices with Poetry, GitHub Actions, and Confluence
- Maintain integrations among the products, account system, and desktop software
- Partner with frontend, AI, QA, product, and UX/UI teams
- Contribute to an agile process and collaborative team culture
Requirements
- Bring at least five years of backend development experience with Python
- Have strong experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, Boto3, or comparable technologies
- Use frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, Flask, or similar tools with confidence
- Demonstrate solid experience with PostgreSQL, SQL, DynamoDB, ORM systems, or comparable database technologies
- Know AWS services including Lambda and S3, or another cloud platform such as Azure or GCP, and be willing to deepen your AWS expertise
- Have practical experience with GitHub Actions and dependency management through Poetry, UV, PIP, or similar tools
- Understand test automation and agile delivery practices including Scrum or Kanban
- Know how to address software performance and scalability using design patterns
- Bring initiative, clear communication, assertiveness, and confidence working as part of a team
