- Design and develop payment-critical backend services and APIs with Java and Spring Boot
- Maintain correctness and dependable performance under load
- Create resilient payment integrations and event-driven workflows
- Develop comprehensive automated tests and uphold strong engineering practices
- Support the growth of mid-level engineers through mentoring
Requirements
- At least five years of Java backend development experience with Spring Boot
- Practical payments or fintech experience working with real payment or financial transaction systems
- Hands-on experience with at least one payment processor or gateway, such as MPGS, Cybersource, or mada
- Strong microservices architecture and REST API design skills
- Experience working with relational databases
- Strong understanding of transactional integrity and system reliability
- Experience with containers and CI/CD practices
- Strong automated testing skills
- Daily working experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code
- Experience with multiple payment processors or gateways is an advantage
- Experience with OCI, AWS, or Azure and Kafka is an advantage
