Senior Application Engineer – Formwork and Shoring (Florida Remote)

White Cap is seeking a senior application engineer to develop and review concrete formwork and shoring solutions for construction projects in Florida. The role covers structural layouts, calculations, drawings, materials planning, and technical support throughout project delivery.

Description

  • Design and review concrete formwork and shoring layouts, including custom solutions for complex projects
  • Support both pre-construction activities and active project execution
  • Produce detailed formwork and shoring drawings in AutoCAD and/or Revit
  • Complete structural calculations to verify load capacities and safety
  • Prepare bills of material and review peer designs for accuracy and efficiency
  • Lay out formwork and shoring systems according to inventory, schedules, costs, and customer needs
  • Work with construction teams to support the practical implementation of designs
  • Advise sales and operations teams on technical matters throughout the project lifecycle
  • Participate in customer meetings before and after sales to align on technical requirements and designs
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
  • Independently manage assignments and develop appropriate solution methods
  • May coordinate project completion by planning, assigning, monitoring, and reviewing work
  • Support the professional development of employees

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in a related discipline is required
  • Typically 5–8 years of related experience, or a master's degree with typically 3–5 years of related experience
  • Certification is required in some areas
  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering
  • At least 3 years of experience designing bridge overhang brackets
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
  • Professional Engineer license preferred
  • Ability to perform structural calculations and verify load capacities
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit
  • Knowledge of civil engineering principles applicable to formwork and shoring systems
