Senior Analytics Engineer, Financial Services – RSM US, Charlotte Onsite

Join RSM US as a temporary Analytics Engineer supporting regulatory reporting and risk data solutions for financial services clients. The role focuses on SQL, ETL, data modeling, reconciliations, and Power BI datasets.

Description

  • Create and operate data acquisition, ingestion, and staging workflows for large-scale regulatory reporting and analytics programs.
  • Maintain an immutable historical data repository that supports reconstruction of previous reporting periods and regulatory submissions.
  • Design and improve canonical data models, reference data structures, and business classification frameworks.
  • Develop exception management repositories for issue tracking, remediation, and transparent regulatory reporting.
  • Implement data quality checks, validation routines, reconciliations, and documentation suitable for audit review.
  • Analyze complex data problems, investigate root causes, and remediate issues across multiple source systems.
  • Maintain data lineage records and control evidence for audit and regulatory assessments.
  • Work with business, risk, compliance, audit, and technology stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist with system integration testing, user acceptance testing, implementation, and production support.
  • Collaborate with reporting and visualization teams to create datasets for Power BI and management reporting.

Requirements

  • At least six years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, data warehousing, or a related field.
  • Advanced SQL expertise, including complex transformations, reconciliations, optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Hands-on experience designing and developing ETL or ELT solutions across multiple source systems.
  • Experience with dimensional modeling, canonical data models, and historical snapshot architectures.
  • Background in financial services, banking, risk management, regulatory reporting, compliance, or audit.
  • Strong knowledge of data quality controls, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex data issues and create durable technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Experience with BCBS 239, enterprise risk programs, risk data aggregation, or regulatory reporting initiatives.
  • Experience developing historical, immutable, or append-only data repositories.
  • Familiarity with data lineage, metadata management, and governance platforms such as Collibra.
  • Experience supporting Power BI reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Experience with cloud and modern data platforms such as Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, Synapse, Fabric, Informatica, Talend, Alteryx, or Teradata.
