Description
- Build and scale backend services and infrastructure for a programmatic advertising platform
- Create low-latency, high-throughput services that process ad requests within milliseconds
- Develop proprietary AI agents for media buying and distribution
- Partner with a data scientist on content tagging, ad-request enrichment, and model development
- Connect the platform with third-party AdTech APIs and systems, including OpenRTB, DSPs, and SSPs
- Review code and peer work, oversee delivery, and support other engineers
- Own a critical technical area independently while contributing direction to the broader engineering team
- Make architectural decisions in a real-time bidding environment
- Help develop agentic workflows across the platform
- Contribute within a GitOps deployment process and code-review culture
- Design and ship services and components from inception through delivery
- Mentor engineers and establish technical standards without direct people management
- Enhance a live, performance-critical platform while preserving existing functionality
Requirements
- At least 5 years of advanced backend engineering experience with Node.js
- At least 3 years building low-latency, high-throughput systems that handle high request volumes with millisecond response times
- At least 1 year of hands-on production experience developing agentic AI, including LLM agents, in collaboration with a data scientist
- At least 5 years of advanced experience developing APIs and third-party integrations
- At least 2 years conducting code and peer reviews while guiding engineers, or equivalent senior individual-contributor mentoring and review-standards experience
- At least 3 years of advanced TypeScript experience; strong modern JavaScript may be accepted instead
- At least 2 years of React experience
- At least 2 years of Google Cloud Platform experience; AWS or Azure may be accepted instead
- At least 2 years of Kubernetes and Argo CD experience for GitOps deployments; Kubernetes with Flux or Helm may be accepted instead
- Senior Engineer or Architect-level capability, with technical leadership experience and the ability to work alongside the CTO
