Senior Actuarial Associate - US Remote

Support actuarial reporting and analysis for Martello Re’s reinsurance business, covering US GAAP, Bermuda EBS/BSCR, and embedded value. Contribute to forecasting, assumption reviews, audits, treaty onboarding, and reporting automation.

Description

  • Provide quarterly financial reporting under US GAAP, Bermuda EBS/BSCR, and embedded value frameworks
  • Evaluate modeled results and prepare reporting packages
  • Monitor and improve analytics and reports
  • Streamline and automate reporting processes and analytical frameworks
  • Assist with onboarding new reinsurance treaties and products
  • Develop and implement controls and analytics frameworks
  • Assist annual actuarial assumption reviews through experience analysis, assumption evaluation, and financial impact measurement
  • Support annual planning and quarterly forecasting activities
  • Act as a primary contact for external audit requests involving actuarial reporting
  • Participate in ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives across actuarial and finance
  • Work collaboratively with Finance and Investments
  • Complete other assigned responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, business, or a related field is required
  • At least two years of actuarial experience is required
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP, including LDTI, and/or EBS/BSCR
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency
  • Ability to anticipate needs, solve problems, take initiative, and adapt within a fast-paced, growing business
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively on key initiatives
  • ASA designations are preferred
  • Experience with R, Python, or a comparable programming language is preferred
  • Experience with actuarial modeling software such as Prophet or MG-ALFA is preferred
  • Must live in the Eastern or Central time zones, an approved operating state, or within commuting distance of the Charlotte, North Carolina office to qualify for remote work
  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods and work at a computer
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds when needed
