Senior Accountant - Budapest Hybrid

Senior Accountant responsible for US GAAP reporting, tax compliance, audits, reconciliations, and financial close activities. Join IFF in supporting global flavors, fragrances, food ingredients, and biosciences solutions.

Description

  • Support month-, quarter-, and year-end closing under US GAAP
  • Prepare and submit US GAAP financial reports according to corporate requirements and deadlines
  • Coordinate annual audits with external auditors and assist with statutory reporting
  • Reconcile balances between US GAAP and Local GAAP
  • Manage local tax compliance, including corporate income tax, VAT, and other applicable indirect tax filings
  • Assist with internal audits and SOX control compliance
  • Compile documentation and provide support for tax audits and government inspections
  • Work with Shared Service Center teams on procure-to-pay and order-to-cash processes
  • Coordinate country-specific payments, including taxes, salaries, and wages
  • Work with Accounting Supervisors, Country Controllers, and cross-functional partners to improve processes and operational excellence

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • Three to eight years of relevant accounting experience in an international setting
  • Thorough knowledge of US GAAP, Local GAAP, statutory reporting, and tax regulations
  • Experience with financial close processes, account reconciliations, and audit support
  • Strong computer and systems skills, including ERP platforms and Microsoft Office
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills for building productive working relationships
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and deadline management in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid understanding of internal controls, compliance obligations, and business ethics
  • Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CMA, or an equivalent certification preferred
  • Experience in a multinational Shared Service Center or audit firm preferred
  • Proactive, customer-focused approach with a commitment to continuous improvement preferred
