Sales Representative - Sports Lighting - Shanghai Onsite

Grow Musco’s sports and large-area lighting business across the Asia-Pacific region. This role combines market development, technical sales, customer engagement, and project support for regional lighting customers.

Description

  • Build relationships with contractors, specifiers, end users, and distribution partners across the sports lighting and electrical sectors
  • Evaluate customer lighting requirements and recommend suitable products and services
  • Promote products and services through presentations, meetings, site visits, and trade shows
  • Create budget estimates and customer proposals with pricing tools
  • Engage key project decision-makers to strengthen Musco’s position
  • Make business-development calls to prospective and existing customers
  • Expand the market through proactive outreach and new project generation
  • Work with sales, business, and engineering teams to evaluate projects from multiple perspectives
  • Negotiate pricing, commercial agreements, credit terms, and collections
  • Support field activities such as site measurements, pole-location confirmation, installation assistance, nighttime light-level testing, troubleshooting, and warranty inspections
  • Keep project records and documentation accurate and current in the sales database
  • Coordinate regularly with Sales Coordinators on territory priorities, concerns, and resource allocation
  • Join corporate meetings and calls when required

Requirements

  • Professional-level spoken, written, and reading fluency in both English and Chinese is required
  • A university degree in Sports Management, Business, Sales, Entrepreneurship, or a related discipline is preferred
  • Five to ten years of technical sales experience is preferred
  • Experience in the electrical industry and with contractor engagement is strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to develop markets through relationship building, pipeline creation, and originating new projects
  • Strong technical aptitude and the ability to learn quickly and explain concepts to others
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills, including confidence presenting to groups
  • Self-directed and assertive, with the ability to perform effectively in a fast-moving environment
  • Strong organization and time-management skills for managing multiple projects
  • Customer-focused approach with an entrepreneurial mindset and creative problem-solving ability
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a wider team
  • Willingness to travel extensively across Asia Pacific, including frequent evenings, overnight trips, and work outside standard hours
  • Personal vehicle available for business travel within China
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Occasional international travel beyond Asia Pacific, including training at the US headquarters, may be required
