Rotational Program Associate, Associate Legal Counsel - Bread Financial (Hybrid)

Support Bread Financial’s consumer payments, lending, and savings businesses as a rotational associate legal counsel. Conduct legal research and assist with litigation, transactions, governance, and business initiatives in a hybrid U.S. role.

Description

  • Deliver legal support across assigned practice areas
  • Perform legal research
  • Assist with litigation and transactional work
  • Draft and prepare legal documents
  • Support governance processes, including agendas, minutes, and meeting coordination
  • Contribute to legal projects, departmental initiatives, and business partner requests
  • Complete rotational assignments and participate in role-specific training, coaching, and talent development programs
  • Develop relationships with internal partners and external counsel
  • Communicate information clearly and professionally
  • Present recommendations and identify, resolve, or escalate issues
  • Learn and follow team processes and procedures
  • Support operations, project work, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Report to the Manager and above; this role has no direct reports

Requirements

  • Recent graduate of law school
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
  • Passed a state bar examination or actively pursuing bar admission through a pending examination or licensure process
  • 0–1 years of experience handling banking, financial services, fintech, or equivalent legal matters
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Legal analysis skills
  • Experience preparing legal documents
  • Legal research skills
  • Must have full-time U.S. work authorization without current or future sponsorship
  • F-1 student visa holders are not eligible for employment
