RF Systems Design Intern in Aix-en-Provence (Hybrid)

Join Eviden, an Atos business focused on critical systems, to design and integrate RF radio systems. Work on simulation, antennas, high-frequency PCBs, and validation for defense projects.

Description

  • Design multiband RF receive and transmit architectures.
  • Select, simulate, tune, and test antennas in real-world environments.
  • Coordinate RF and mechanical design around size, shielding, and EMC constraints.
  • Create controlled-impedance, multilayer RF PCB layouts operating at frequencies up to several gigahertz.
  • Run electromagnetic simulations with HFSS, CST, or comparable tools.
  • Support system validation using VNAs, spectrum analysis, sensitivity measurements, and noise testing.
  • Contribute to applied projects involving UAVs and embedded RF systems.
  • Support project design, development, and validation activities.
  • Design and integrate complete radio systems while coordinating antennas, electronics, mechanical constraints, and high-frequency PCB layout.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or first-year Master’s degree, equivalent to Bac+3 through Bac+4, in mechanical engineering, electromagnetics, or electronics.
  • Demonstrated interest in the mechanical design of RF systems.
  • Knowledge of antennas, propagation, and EMC principles.
  • Basic understanding of digital and analog electronics.
  • Familiarity with high-frequency PCB layout.
  • Self-directed, technically curious, and oriented toward systems-level thinking.
  • Comfort working across frequencies from VHF to several gigahertz.
  • Awareness of software-defined radio, discrete RF chains, and active or passive antennas.
  • Experience or coursework with HFSS, CST, or SIwave simulations.
  • Understanding of multilayer RF PCBs, including 4- to 12-layer boards and RF materials.
  • Familiarity with VNAs, spectrum analyzers, and RF generators.
