Remote Legal Intern at USAble Life

USAble Life is seeking a remote Legal Intern for a ten-week summer placement supporting insurance-related legal research, document review, compliance, and corporate governance. The internship includes mentorship from experienced legal professionals.

Description

  • Research legal questions and distill findings on regulatory matters, contracts, and case law
  • Help draft, review, and organize contracts, policies, and legal memoranda
  • Track regulatory developments and internal policy changes to support compliance activities
  • Attend meetings and develop materials for legal proceedings and internal reviews
  • Keep legal files and databases accurate, organized, and confidential
  • Work with cross-functional teams on legal matters affecting business operations
  • Contribute to special projects involving corporate governance, risk management, or intellectual property

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Juris Doctor (JD) or an equivalent legal degree
  • Demonstrated strength in legal research, writing, and analysis
  • Professional judgment and discretion when working with sensitive information
  • Working proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Exposure to legal research platforms such as Westlaw or LexisNexis is advantageous
  • Capacity to handle multiple assignments while meeting deadlines
  • Interest in corporate law, compliance, or regulatory affairs
  • Availability for a 40-hour work week throughout the ten-week internship
  • Currently enrolled in a related business degree program
  • Sophomore standing or above
  • Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
  • At least one year of work experience or equivalent military experience
  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
  • Visa sponsorship is not available
