Reliability Engineering Manager – SAP PM (Onsite, North York)

Lead SAP PM and reliability engineering strategy for Apotex’s pharmaceutical manufacturing operations. Improve equipment performance, reliability programs, and engineering capabilities across global sites.

Description

  • Define and advance reliability engineering standards, principles, and best practices
  • Own the SAP PM function and provide day-to-day business support
  • Lead SAP PM optimization programs and major system changes
  • Support reliability initiatives led by corporate teams and individual sites
  • Manage reliability engineers while providing coaching, training, and operational support
  • Create reliability trends, reports, and customer-focused performance indicators
  • Set equipment performance standards and evaluate overall equipment effectiveness
  • Work with Production to identify reliability opportunities, create action plans, and deliver improvements
  • Advise Engineering on equipment selection using reliability gains and established industry practices
  • Partner with Quality to confirm maintenance work is properly completed and approved
  • Conduct performance discussions and monthly one-on-one meetings with employees
  • Build employee capabilities, support career development, and promote a safe, high-performing culture
  • Recruit, select, and onboard new talent
  • Ensure direct reports follow compliance requirements and company policies
  • Develop and execute corporate reliability strategy across GSTO sites
  • Coordinate with international engineering leaders to strengthen and align reliability programs
  • Oversee the continued maintenance and optimization of SAP PM
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in mechanical or electromechanical studies, or equivalent related experience as a millwright or machinist
  • Training in reliability engineering principles and practices is preferred
  • Proven staff leadership experience, including influencing stakeholders, managing diverse teams, setting objectives, and evaluating performance
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems; SAP experience is preferred
  • Strong data analysis capabilities
  • Solid knowledge of reliability principles and methodologies
  • Ability to facilitate collaboration within a team environment
  • Strong organizational and communication abilities
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Working proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
  • Five to eight years of related experience, preferably in pharmaceutical or similarly regulated manufacturing
  • Experience applying reliability best practices and managing maintenance workflows and processes
  • Experience leading and training reliability engineers
