Quality Advisor – Einasleigh, Queensland (FIFO)

John Holland is seeking a Quality Advisor for its pumped-storage hydro project with McConnell Dowell in Queensland. The role covers quality assurance systems, inspections, audits, non-compliance management, and corrective actions on a FIFO roster.

Description

  • Support the implementation and monitoring of project quality objectives and requirements
  • Help manage risks and issues that could affect successful project delivery
  • Assist with inspection and testing activities
  • Develop and recommend inspection and sampling methods, quality control plans, process controls, and testing procedures
  • Record quality issues and performance measures for management review
  • Help implement John Holland’s Quality Management System on the project
  • Prepare audit reports on production and quality issues, including recommended corrective actions
  • Identify and report quality objectives, requirements, risks, and issues to the Quality Manager
  • Provide management with technical guidance on quality-related activities
  • Oversee non-compliance reporting and the implementation of dispositions, remedial measures, and corrective actions
  • Review subcontractor quality documentation and verify compliance with quality system obligations
  • Attend inspections to confirm that work meets design and project requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline such as science, building, construction, quality management, or project management
  • At least three years of experience in a quality representative role is preferred
  • Quality assurance experience on large-scale construction projects, particularly in mechanical engineering
  • Experience in major power station, energy, or resources projects is advantageous
  • Experience developing and implementing project quality assurance management systems
  • Exposure to major mechanical packages on large-scale energy, power, or industrial projects is preferred
  • Ability to develop and recommend inspection and sampling methods, quality control plans, process controls, and testing procedures
  • Understanding of quality compliance and reporting procedures
  • Ability to manage non-compliances, dispositions, remedial measures, and corrective actions
  • Ability to review subcontractor quality documentation and quality system obligations
