Principal Structural Engineering Manager (Telecommunications) - Chatswood

Lead Service Stream’s national wireless structural engineering function from Chatswood. Oversee telecommunications infrastructure design, certification, compliance, and technical governance across Australia.

Description

  • Lead and develop a national structural engineering team
  • Manage engineering resources, workloads, and technical capability development
  • Review, validate, and approve structural designs, assessments, and certifications
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex engineering and site-related issues
  • Advance continuous improvement and engineering excellence initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with NCC requirements, Australian Standards, telecommunications regulations, and Safety in Design principles
  • Oversee team requirements for professional registration, chartership, and certification
  • Provide specialist structural guidance to project delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle
  • Develop strong national relationships with clients, subcontractors, and key stakeholders
  • Promote quality assurance, professional standards, and technical governance across the Wireless business

Requirements

  • At least 15 years of experience designing, assessing, and certifying telecommunications structures
  • Extensive experience with towers, rooftop installations, equipment support structures, and structural strengthening solutions
  • At least five years of experience leading and developing engineering teams
  • Substantial consulting or professional services experience
  • Detailed knowledge of Australian Standards, NCC requirements, structural certification processes, and state-based registration obligations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage engineering risk, compliance, and quality frameworks
  • Proven capability in resolving complex technical and project delivery challenges
  • Degree in Structural Engineering
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status
  • Professional engineering registration recognised across Australian states and territories
  • Eligibility to certify and sign off structural engineering outcomes where required
