Platform DevOps Engineer

Own Vasco’s GCP and Kubernetes platform, security, observability, and delivery systems. Build dependable infrastructure for an AI-powered revenue-context platform.

Description

  • Set quality standards for infrastructure, security, observability, and monitoring
  • Maintain infrastructure blueprints and guardrails for engineers and AI tools
  • Manage GCP infrastructure and the Kubernetes platform as Terraform code
  • Improve CI/CD, self-service tooling, and developer productivity harnesses
  • Instrument production systems and reduce unnecessary monitoring noise
  • Lead incident management, stakeholder communication, and rapid resolution
  • Set and optimize cloud, vendor, and LLM cost targets
  • Manage data security and access across IAM, secrets, network controls, Cloudflare, Aikido, and model inference
  • Contribute to compliance maintenance
  • Support data pipeline and warehouse infrastructure with data engineers
  • Report to the CTO while collaborating with product and data engineering teams

Requirements

  • At least six years of relevant experience
  • End-to-end ownership of production cloud infrastructure on GCP or a comparable platform
  • Experience managing production infrastructure with Terraform, using code as the sole change mechanism
  • Experience building or improving CI/CD and self-service tools used daily by a product team
  • Practical experience with AI coding tools, including validating generated code
  • Experience establishing monitoring and alerting, leading incident response, and conducting postmortems
  • Experience implementing least-privilege IAM, secrets management, and network controls for sensitive customer data
  • Experience lowering cloud costs while maintaining reliability
  • Experience with, or equivalent knowledge of, GCP, Kubernetes, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Cloud Tasks, Terraform, Atlantis, CircleCI, Datadog, Incident.io, Cloudflare, Aikido, Node.js, or TypeScript
  • Experience operating infrastructure for data pipelines and warehouses
  • Experience supporting LLM or agent workloads, including usage and cost controls
  • Experience helping a team work through SOC 2 or a comparable compliance framework
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada
  • Successful completion of a background check before starting
