Packaging Designer

Creates retail-ready packaging, mockups, and visual refinements for TwelveNYC clients in fashion, beauty, and lifestyle. Works with design and development teams on sustainable, brand-consistent packaging.

Description

  • Collaborate with design and development teams to create retail-ready packaging for a range of brands.
  • Design packaging collections, including layouts, graphics, and visual refinements.
  • Research packaging trends, materials, and sustainability initiatives to inform design concepts.
  • Create mockups, comps, and basic renderings to illustrate packaging ideas.
  • Contribute ideas in brainstorming sessions and collaborate with the team.
  • Apply brand guidelines across seasonal and evergreen packaging collections.
  • Keep working files organized, with clearly labeled and accessible assets, links, and versions.
  • Develop packaging concepts that reflect brand tone, market trends, and price points.
  • Explore new packaging materials, structures, and production methods with guidance from senior team members.
  • Revise work in response to feedback from senior designers, developers, and stakeholders.
  • Use AI to improve efficiency and automate processes while applying individual creativity, judgment, and original thinking.

Requirements

  • Four to six years of relevant design experience at an in-house creative team or design agency is preferred.
  • High proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
  • Experience combining typography, imagery, color, and layout to create impactful designs.
  • Illustration or 3D rendering software experience, or an interest in these areas, is a plus.
  • Experience preparing print-ready files, dielines, templates, tech packs, and post-production artwork.
  • Ability to communicate ideas visually through sketches, comps, or simple renderings.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and take ownership of independent projects.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, organization, and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented, humble, solutions-driven approach and a positive attitude.
