Description

  • Teach accounting theory and practical applications in line with state academic standards
  • Deliver instruction in classroom, laboratory, or field settings that reflect industry environments
  • Develop course syllabi using the supplied template
  • Use current classroom and laboratory technology
  • Assess students’ progress toward defined goals and objectives
  • Grade all coursework promptly
  • Maintain required safety and security standards within the discipline area
  • Meet with students, staff, and educators about instructional programs and related matters
  • Complete and maintain required documentation and administrative reports
  • Stay informed about current accounting trends and developments
  • Work with faculty to establish, measure, and assess student learning outcomes
  • Provide student learning outcome data to the appropriate program director
  • Assist the Program Director and Division Dean or Associate Dean
  • Contribute to recruitment, retention, and job placement activities
  • Request and maintain instructional supplies and equipment
  • Carry out other assigned responsibilities

Requirements

  • A master’s degree in accounting, or a related master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline from an accredited institution
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Faculty credentials that meet all applicable accrediting requirements for the assigned course
  • Understanding of the mission of postsecondary technical education
  • Knowledge of academic course standards
  • Familiarity with the College’s academic programs
  • Ability to work cooperatively with students, faculty, and staff
  • Ability to prepare and deliver classroom or laboratory content
  • Ability to make timely decisions
  • Proficiency with computers and job-related software
  • Ability to divide larger assignments into manageable tasks
  • Decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Accurate grade-keeping skills
  • Interpersonal and public-facing communication skills
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move office products and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Faculty must answer all emails and requests within 24 hours Monday through Thursday and within 48 hours on weekends, Friday through Sunday
