Nuclear Project Engineer – Pumps and Rotating Machinery

Description
- Direct engineering activities for pumping equipment in a tightly regulated environment
- Perform pump integration studies across related circuits and systems
- Prepare and review preliminary and detailed design studies
- Oversee pump manufacturing activities with suppliers and manufacturers
- Produce technical assessments of manufacturer-reported non-conformities
- Plan project activities, tasks, and milestones
- Track technical performance, budgets, and schedules
- Take part in design reviews and quality assurance for engineering studies
- Coordinate with project engineers and interface disciplines
- Identify, assess, and track technical risks
- Apply nuclear safety principles and methods throughout project activities
- Help prepare and maintain the project’s technical documentation
Requirements
- An engineering or Master’s degree requiring five years of higher education, preferably in general or mechanical engineering
- At least three years of experience in rotating machinery, mechanical engineering, or industrial hydraulics
- Prior experience in the nuclear sector is preferred
- Experience with pumps or hydraulic equipment in regulated sectors such as energy, petrochemicals, or pharmaceuticals is also relevant
- A strong grasp of safety considerations for critical equipment
- Technical precision and strong analytical ability
- Confidence working across interfaces with multiple disciplines
- Ability to manage suppliers and decide how to address technical non-conformities
- Self-directed working style and a strong sense of responsibility
- Collaborative team approach with project engineers from other specialties
- Responsive handling of technical and scheduling issues
