Mid-Level Process Control Consultant — TAGNA Technology, Brazil (Hybrid)

Designs control strategies for TAGNA Technology’s industrial clients, with a focus on process optimization, data analysis, and industrial automation in a hybrid role.

Description

  • Design control architectures and strategies to optimize industrial processes.
  • Find improvement opportunities and integrate systems that add value to client operations.
  • Prepare and analyze PLC backups to develop control strategies.
  • Develop linear controllers, including PID controllers, using response-curve models or phenomenological process equations.
  • Compensate for nonlinear behavior in actuators such as valves and variable-speed drives.
  • Account for process asymmetries in control strategies.
  • Implement dead-time compensation.
  • Calculate system stability and generate linearization functions.
  • Analyze process data to assess project benefits.
  • Contribute to control and optimization projects for industrial clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Control and Automation Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least five years of experience applying process control.
  • Experience identifying bottlenecks and improvement opportunities in industrial control systems and processes.
  • Field implementation experience with advanced or expert control systems is an advantage.
  • Experience with model predictive control (MPC) or fuzzy controllers is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with PlantTriage or other control-loop management and advanced control software is an advantage.
  • A completed master’s or doctoral degree is an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Interest in technology and innovation in industrial automation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Sound decision-making in complex situations.
  • Strong concentration and ability to perform under pressure.
  • Good focus, organization, and activity-planning skills.
