Medical Staff Database Administrator - Illinois Remote

Southern Illinois Healthcare is seeking a Medical Staff Database Administrator to oversee ECHO credentialing and provider data systems. The role supports provider records, compliance, reporting, system maintenance, and medical staff credentialing operations.

Description

  • Manage the ECHO customer relationship under the service agreement
  • Configure, implement, maintain, secure, and oversee the ECHO Credentialing and Provider Data Management System across participating SIH hospitals and service organizations
  • Act as the primary liaison between ECHO and system users
  • Coordinate ECHO audits, maintenance, installations, upgrades, enhancements, methodology, issue escalation, reporting, user training, and general support
  • Plan and organize medical staff services in alignment with hospital objectives, medical staff bylaws, TJC standards, and regulatory and accreditation requirements
  • Schedule, coordinate, test, communicate, train users on, and implement ECHO releases and upgrades
  • Oversee daily operations, user-defined field configuration, system security, troubleshooting, and issue resolution
  • Escalate unresolved issues to ECHO customer support
  • Identify dependencies between the ECHO system and other tasks and applications
  • Support ECHO software design, development, interfaces, and ongoing system support
  • Develop metrics covering system functionality, improvement opportunities, user needs, compliance, and usage processes
  • Audit, assess, procure, implement, use, and maintain provider credentialing processes and information systems
  • Maintain practitioner data repositories containing education, training, experience, and licensure information
  • Deliver credentialing and privileging services
  • Review credentialing and privileging requests to determine eligibility
  • Analyze data and recommend actions for credentialing and privileging proceedings
  • Investigate and verify discrepancies and adverse information
  • Track information collection and obtain additional details for peer review decisions
  • Report applicant credentials and adverse recommendations to the Manager

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Information Systems, Health Informatics, or a related healthcare field
  • CPCS certification, or eligibility to obtain certification within one year
  • CPMSM certification, or eligibility to obtain certification within one year
  • Three to five years of experience in medical staff services, provider enrollment, or credentialing
  • Experience in a medical staff office, credentialing department, provider enrollment department, or managed care organization
  • Experience maintaining credentialing software and databases
  • Experience with credentialing platforms, database administration, report writing and analytics, Microsoft Excel, data validation, and quality control
  • Ability to perform intermittent hand manipulation
  • Ability to intermittently lift and carry up to 20 pounds
