Maintenance Engineer – Norwich, On-Site
Maintain, diagnose, and repair injection moulding, finishing, and ancillary equipment at Amcor’s Norwich manufacturing site. Install new equipment and support engineering improvements on a rotating 4-on-4-off shift pattern.
Description
- Respond quickly to machinery breakdowns and reported faults
- Perform initial diagnostic assessments
- Maintain and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic faults across injection moulding, finishing, and ancillary equipment
- Apply strict safety controls during repairs, including isolating machinery and confirming it is safe for operators and engineers
- Collaborate with Senior Maintenance Engineers, Production teams, and the design team
- Provide engineering expertise while installing and commissioning equipment for projects and improvement initiatives
- Work a 4-on-4-off pattern comprising two early shifts from 06:00 to 18:00 and two late shifts from 10:00 to 22:00
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 qualifications in both Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
- At least three years of experience working with manufacturing equipment and machinery, including pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Competent mechanical and electrical engineering skills
- Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding abilities
- Understanding of machine operation and hydraulic principles
- Awareness of workplace safety requirements and COSHH
- Strong technical diagnosis and troubleshooting capabilities
- Experience with injection moulding machinery is advantageous
