Lead SharePoint Server Administrator - Onsite in Washington

Lead administration of three on-premises SharePoint farms for AMERICAN SYSTEMS, an employee-owned defense contractor. Modernize SharePoint and virtualized infrastructure while supporting secure Department of Defense operations.

Description

  • Oversee three SharePoint farms spanning development, testing, and production.
  • Track platform health, performance, and future capacity needs.
  • Lead upgrades to the current supported release of SharePoint Server Subscription Edition.
  • Prepare upgrade evaluations, plans, and implementation roadmaps.
  • Architect and plan the supporting infrastructure.
  • Migrate SharePoint content databases and service applications.
  • Conduct testing and validation while assisting end users.
  • Administer patches, cumulative updates, and security settings.
  • Configure and support Search, Managed Metadata, User Profile, and other service applications.
  • Diagnose and resolve SharePoint platform problems.
  • Maintain backup procedures and disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Administer permissions, governance controls, and compliance obligations.
  • Coordinate with SQL DBAs to support SharePoint databases.
  • Engage stakeholders to define needs and deliver technical solutions.
  • Maintain documentation for architecture, configurations, and operating procedures.
  • Design, implement, and administer VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts and vCenter Server.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Bachelor’s degree; additional relevant experience may substitute for the degree.
  • At least eight years of hands-on SharePoint administration experience.
  • DoD 8140 IAT II certification, such as Security+ CE or an equivalent credential.
  • Demonstrated experience administering multi-server SharePoint farms.
  • Experience planning and delivering SharePoint upgrades from 2016 or 2019 to Subscription Edition or later.
  • Strong Windows Server administration skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory integration.
  • Strong knowledge of IIS configuration.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server in SharePoint environments.
  • Experience using PowerShell to administer SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint governance principles and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Clear communication and technical documentation skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities.
  • Highly organized and attentive to detail.
