Description
- Lead backend engineering on a modern Java and Spring Boot stack
- Design and develop payment-critical backend services and APIs
- Set and maintain code-quality standards across reviews, testing, and release readiness
- Safeguard the correctness, reliability, and security of the team’s services
- Mentor and develop backend engineers
- Collaborate closely with architecture and product teams
Requirements
- At least 8 years of Java backend development experience, including strong Spring Boot expertise
- Demonstrated technical leadership combined with hands-on software development
- Required hands-on payments or fintech experience building real payment or financial-transaction systems
- Required experience with at least one payment processor or gateway, such as MPGS, Cybersource, or mada
- Strong knowledge of microservices, REST API design, relational databases, and automated testing
- Experience delivering containerized applications with Kubernetes and CI/CD
- Required day-to-day use of AI coding tools such as Claude Code
- Experience with multiple payment processors or gateways is preferred
- Experience with OCI, AWS, or Azure and event-driven systems such as Kafka is preferred
