Lead Azure Data Engineer at LSEG - Hyderabad Onsite

Lead the development of Azure data platforms for LSEG’s financial markets infrastructure. Build secure Fabric and Purview solutions, production pipelines, DevOps workflows, and analytics-ready data products.

Description

  • Partner with customers, stakeholders, and suppliers to define solution intent, information models, and documentation needs.
  • Establish consistent modelling, design, and coding standards across the program.
  • Coordinate security, data quality, infrastructure, scalability, performance, and other non-functional requirements.
  • Prioritize and deliver software development lifecycle activities.
  • Build tools and applications with clean, efficient code.
  • Automate operational tasks using suitable tools and scripts.
  • Design, implement, and oversee DevOps and CI/CD practices.
  • Work with internal teams, product owners, business groups, and vendors to resolve issues and enhance products.
  • Mentor developers through technical guidance, advice, and coaching.
  • Assist subject matter experts and Tech Leads in meeting delivery commitments.
  • Build and operate secure, compliant, high-performing, organized, and dependable production data-processing pipelines.
  • Design, implement, monitor, and improve data platforms and pipelines.
  • Create Azure workflows for data engineering, ingestion, curation, transformation, and loading.
  • Provision storage, process streaming and batch data, apply transformations and security and retention policies, diagnose bottlenecks, and connect to external data sources.
  • Deliver solutions with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Databricks, Azure Blob Storage, and Microsoft Purview.
  • Combine and transform structured and unstructured data for analytics use cases.
  • Contribute to and produce robust software designs and architectures.
  • Lead technology solution delivery and guide the engineering team.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of IT experience.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience with data platforms in financial services and Azure PaaS offerings.
  • Extensive experience with Fabric, Snowflake, Microsoft Purview, Fabric or Databricks, Data Factory, Data Lake, Azure Monitor, ADLS, Azure Functions, Log Analytics, Azure Container Apps, and Solidatus.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python; PySpark experience is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of security practices involving Azure Key Vault, Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, and Azure Monitor.
  • Sound understanding of Azure networking concepts.
  • Sound understanding of UML.
  • Practical knowledge of DevOps tools and Terraform.
  • Sound understanding of REST APIs.
  • Knowledge of Agile development practices, including Scrum.
  • Capability to lead a team.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience working with Agile teams across different locations.
  • Azure DP-203 and DP-900 certifications are preferred.
  • Strong communication, presentation, documentation, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage work in a fast-moving environment with changing requirements and priorities.
  • Critical thinking and creative problem-solving ability.
