Junior Java Developer - SAIC (Hybrid, Ashburn, VA)
Join SAIC as a junior Java/JEE developer building Spring-based microservices for defense, intelligence, and civilian government technology programs. You will design, test, review, and document enterprise software for public-sector systems.

- Build and implement Spring Framework microservices
- Use Eclipse, Visual Studio Code, and Atlassian tools for software design, development, and testing
- Present technical solutions during formal and informal design reviews
- Document software designs in accordance with the Government’s system lifecycle methodology
- Design, develop, and document large-scale enterprise software systems
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related engineering discipline
- At least two years of technical experience
- At least two years of Java J2EE/JEE design and software development experience
- Experience designing, developing, and documenting large-scale enterprise software systems
- At least two years of experience with cloud applications and serverless hosted services, including AWS Lambda
- Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, React, React Native, and Node.js
- Experience developing Spring microservices, primarily with Spring Boot
- Experience performing CRUD operations with Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB using JDBC, JPA, and Hibernate
- Experience with NoSQL databases, including MongoDB, DocumentDB, and DynamoDB
- Experience developing and debugging complex SQL queries
- Familiarity with Unix and Linux systems, commands, and shell scripting
- Experience applying object-oriented analysis and design techniques
- Ability to collaborate in a distributed team environment
- Must be located within the GWA or commutable area
- Master’s degree in computer science or a related field is preferred
- Experience working on large project teams and Federal Government projects is preferred
- Experience with Agile/Scrum is preferred
- Experience writing code that integrates with AWS services such as S3, SQS, Lambda, ElastiCache, and MongoDB is preferred
- Experience with Docker, Konvoy, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitLab, and monitoring tools is preferred
