Java Angular Developer at Smile — Hybrid France

Join Smile as a full-stack Java and Angular developer building critical web applications for major organizations. Work with Java, Angular, PostgreSQL, Kafka, and DevOps practices in a hybrid role in France.

Description

  • Design REST APIs and integrate SOAP services
  • Build applications with Java 17+, Spring Boot 3, and Angular 18+
  • Manage PostgreSQL databases containing large volumes of data
  • Apply hexagonal and event-driven architectures with Kafka
  • Create and maintain GitLab CI pipelines and Docker images
  • Develop unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
  • Contribute to code reviews and apply Clean Code, SOLID, TDD, and DDD practices
  • Partner with product and UX/UI teams using Figma designs
  • Help improve development methods and engineering practices
  • Deliver a technically demanding project within an Agile Scrum team
  • Design, develop, and evolve critical web applications
  • Represent Smile in client engagements

Requirements

  • Substantial experience developing full-stack applications with Java and Angular
  • Confidence working in technically demanding environments
  • Strong commitment to software quality, testing, and modern architectural practices
  • Experience in business-critical environments is advantageous
  • Adaptable approach to changing needs
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership
  • Careful, quality-focused working style
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • A service-oriented approach
  • Experience with Claude Code is highly valued
  • Claude Code 101, Claude Code in Action, or Introduction to MCP certification is advantageous
  • Cloud, Data, or Agile certifications are valued according to the candidate’s background
