iOS Engineer – Fishbrain (Hybrid, Sweden)

Build Fishbrain’s global fishing app with Swift in a hybrid iOS engineering role. Own mobile features end to end while improving activation, engagement, retention, and user experience.

Description

  • Build and deliver high-quality native iOS features with Swift
  • Lead features through discovery, technical design, development, experimentation, release, and ongoing maintenance
  • Partner with Product, Design, Backend, and Mobile Engineering to address customer needs
  • Contribute to APIs, backend services, and other components beyond the iOS codebase
  • Create features and experiments that strengthen activation, engagement, and retention
  • Evaluate product outcomes through data analysis and experimentation
  • Help shape technical decisions, architecture, and engineering practices
  • Take part in code reviews, technical discussions, and pair programming
  • Participate in recruitment activities, including interviews, technical exercises, design interviews, reference checks, and background checks

Requirements

  • At least five years of recent professional experience developing native iOS applications
  • Strong proficiency with Swift
  • Sound knowledge of iOS architecture, design patterns, and platform best practices
  • Ability to independently take features from initial problem definition through production
  • A strong focus on products and user experience
  • Willingness to participate in technical and product decision-making
  • Curiosity and confidence learning technologies beyond your primary specialty
  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills
  • Submit applications in English
  • Experience spanning mobile and backend development, including APIs and services, is beneficial
  • Experience with Ruby, Ruby on Rails, or comparable backend technologies is beneficial
  • Familiarity with A/B testing, experimentation, and analytics tools such as Amplitude, Firebase, or Braze is beneficial
  • Experience building consumer mobile products focused on engagement, retention, or growth is beneficial
  • Experience creating dynamic components at runtime is beneficial
