Home Support Worker - ParaMed, Cornwall, Ontario

Provide personal care, meal support, housekeeping, and companionship during home visits in Cornwall. Help ParaMed patients maintain safety, independence, and well-being in their own homes.

Description

  • Help community members remain safe and independent in their homes
  • Assist patients with everyday tasks and personal care routines
  • Travel between patients’ homes to complete multiple visits each day
  • Prepare meals and provide support during mealtimes
  • Handle essential household cleaning and housekeeping tasks
  • Offer companionship while supporting patients’ overall well-being
  • Provide personal hygiene assistance, including bathing and showering
  • Help with fundamental activities of daily living

Requirements

  • Demonstrate compassion and strong listening skills
  • Be motivated to make a meaningful difference in the community
  • Be willing to visit patients’ homes within an assigned service area
  • Be available to work every other weekend
  • Experience supporting seniors or children is an asset
  • Successfully complete the required criminal background screening upon hire
  • Previous experience providing personal hygiene care is helpful but not required
  • Hold a valid driver’s licence and have access to a vehicle
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent qualification
