HNTB Roadway Engineer III – Tampa, FL (Onsite)

Lead roadway engineering design and delivery for HNTB transportation infrastructure projects in Florida. Support FDOT and local government clients across complex, multidisciplinary assignments.

Description

  • Lead transportation engineering projects from initiation through closeout while managing scope, budget, and schedule
  • Execute roadway design, cost estimating, specifications, corridor modeling, public engagement, feasibility studies, and express design development
  • Create and revise design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications
  • Conduct research, calculations, design, and project delivery in collaboration with the project manager
  • Apply engineering methods, procedures, and design standards to projects of varied size and complexity
  • Prepare conceptual and detailed designs and calculations with current drafting and technical software
  • Mentor, train, and review the work of junior engineering personnel
  • Deliver assigned work within established schedules and budgeted hours
  • Prepare project specifications and discipline-specific reports, designs, and plans
  • Coordinate project team members and collaborate with other disciplines on multidisciplinary assignments
  • Conduct quality-control reviews of engineering deliverables
  • Support discipline scheduling, hour allocation, and workload distribution

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 4 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 3 years, or a PhD with 2 years
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
  • Strong understanding of engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles
  • Ability to apply engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles effectively
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, MicroStation/OpenRoads, AutoCAD, or other required software
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • Knowledge of MicroStation OpenRoads Designer (ORD) and/or AutoCAD preferred
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
