Grain Operations Specialist - Drayton, ND
CHS Inc. is hiring a full-time Grain Operations Specialist for its onsite facility in Drayton, North Dakota. The role supports grain handling, agricultural input operations, equipment use, maintenance, and customer deliveries.
Description
- Load and unload grain at the facility
- Complete scheduled maintenance and repairs
- Monitor and preserve grain quality
- Mix and load fertilizer and chemical products
- Support train loading operations
- Build commodity knowledge while following company policies and regulations
- Serve customers courteously and professionally
- Prepare trucks and railcars for loading and unloading by sampling, loosening nuts, opening hatches, and connecting or disconnecting flexible hoses
- Handle agricultural inputs with heavy- and light-duty machinery and equipment
- Operate and monitor load-out functions
- Use automated scale and dump systems
- Complete and document daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance activities
- Inspect equipment for seeps and leaks
- Monitor and maintain inventory quality
- Deliver fertilizer, chemicals, seed, feed, and other products to customer locations
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe, including housekeeping and spill cleanup
- Maintain facility grounds, including snow removal
- Complete warehouse duties such as loader and forklift operation, inventory loading and unloading, and general maintenance
- Escalate customer complaints, maintenance and repair needs, and safety concerns to the supervisor
- Support a strong safety culture and follow applicable policies, procedures, and regulations
- Handle additional assignments that support efficient facility operations and quality customer service
Requirements
- Meet the applicable minimum age requirement
- Bring at least one year of Operations and/or Business Operations experience
- Operate loaders, conveyors, tractors, and track mobiles
- Work extended hours during peak seasons
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Hold a CDL or be able to obtain one with a Hazmat endorsement preferred
- Agriculture experience preferred
- Forklift certification preferred
- Lift up to 75 pounds
- Climb railcars, ladders, stairs, and bins
- Work in dusty environments and adverse weather conditions and temperatures
- Pass applicable pre-employment screenings, which may include drug, criminal, motor vehicle, physical requirements, and FMCSA Clearinghouse checks
