Full-Time Accountant - PCL Construction, Richmond, BC Onsite

Support project accounting, billing, forecasting, reconciliations, and compliance for PCL Construction’s infrastructure work in Richmond, British Columbia.

Description

  • Handle general accounting and administrative duties supporting operational requirements and contractual obligations.
  • Process financial transactions accurately and within required timelines.
  • Contribute to monthly forecasting review meetings.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis for project teams as required.
  • Help compile information for internal and external financial reporting.
  • Prepare client billing packages according to contract terms and follow up to support timely payment.
  • Complete bank deposits, monthly reconciliations, and cash receipt entries.
  • Flag irregularities and potential risk exposure while supporting corrective strategies.
  • Maintain required insurance, bonding, SDI, workers’ compensation, statutory declaration, and lien waiver documentation.
  • Review trade partner records for accounting matters and apply established accounting procedures.

Requirements

  • Postsecondary education in accounting or a related field is required.
  • Progress toward an accounting designation is considered an asset.
  • At least two years of accounting experience in construction or a related industry is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of full-cycle accounting, project forecasting, and budgeting is required.
  • Familiarity with government legislation and generally accepted accounting principles is expected.
  • Intermediate knowledge of lien rights is required.
  • Basic experience with bid and contract securities, insurance, risk management, claims management, pricing, and accounting is expected.
  • Basic knowledge of subcontract purchase order terms, including insurance, subcontractor default insurance, and bonding requirements, is required.
  • Familiarity with owner contract provisions covering payment terms, billing requirements, audit rights, and cost-of-work definitions is expected.
  • Use discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting software is required.
