Frontend Developer (React, Next.js) – Malaysia Remote
Build responsive, dependable interfaces with React, Next.js, and TypeScript. Translate approved designs into tested features, integrate APIs, and resolve browser issues.
Description
- Create reliable, responsive interfaces from approved designs and API contracts
- Complete assigned features with minimal supervision
- Investigate and resolve browser-related problems
- Produce maintainable front-end code backed by appropriate tests
- Translate Figma files and other visual specifications into accurate interfaces
- Connect REST APIs and support loading, error, empty, and partial-data states
- Develop polling and request-cleanup behavior while safely handling incomplete or unexpected responses
- Work collaboratively with Git branches, pull requests, and code reviews
Requirements
- Bring 4–6 years of professional front-end development experience
- Demonstrate strong proficiency with React, Next.js, TypeScript, and hooks-based component design
- Understand component lifecycles, effects, memoization, and techniques for avoiding needless re-renders
- Have experience with Next.js, Vite, or a comparable modern front-end build framework
- Know Zustand, Redux Toolkit, or a similar state-management solution, including effective selector usage
- Be highly capable with HTML5, CSS3, and SCSS, including responsive design, semantic HTML, and scoped styles
- Understand accessibility essentials such as keyboard operation, focus control, and appropriate ARIA attributes
- Have used a design system or component library such as IBM Carbon, Material UI, or an equivalent
- Be able to reproduce Figma designs and other visual specifications accurately
- Have integrated REST APIs and implemented loading, error, empty, and partial-data states
- Understand polling, request cancellation or cleanup, and resilient handling of incomplete or unexpected API data
- Understand environment configuration, package management, and front-end build workflows
- Have written unit and component tests with Vitest or Jest and React Testing Library
- Use browser DevTools confidently to investigate and fix cross-browser problems
- Understand Git branching, pull requests, code reviews, and collaborative delivery practices
- Write clear, reusable, and maintainable front-end code
- Understand secure client-side practices, including environment variables and responsible logging
- Experience with GSAP, Framer Motion, React Spring, or a comparable animation library is advantageous
- Experience with Recharts, Chart.js, D3.js, Highcharts, or another charting library is advantageous
- Hands-on knowledge of three.js, React Three Fiber, WebGL, or the HTML Canvas API is advantageous
- Familiarity with performance profiling, bundle analysis, lazy loading, and dynamic imports is advantageous
- Experience with react-i18next, next-intl, or another internationalization library is advantageous
- Experience with Playwright or another end-to-end testing tool is advantageous
- Familiarity with error boundaries, front-end monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines is advantageous
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps is advantageous
- Experience on an Agile team using Jira and Confluence is advantageous
