Foster Care Coordinator – South Carolina (Remote)

Coordinate foster placements and support youth and caregivers for THOMPSON Child & Family Focus. The role covers case management, home visits, compliance, outreach, and emergency coverage in Columbia, South Carolina.

Description

  • Support stable, successful foster placements by assisting youth and caregivers
  • Build awareness and visibility for the foster care program
  • Handle administrative responsibilities as needed
  • Contribute to marketing and community outreach activities
  • Strengthen the program’s social media communications
  • Complete home visits with foster families
  • Deliver case management and ongoing support to foster families
  • Arrange and coordinate services for families
  • Maintain required records and manage compliance activities
  • Partner with internal teams and community organizations
  • Create outreach content and supporting materials
  • Connect with the community to recruit and assist prospective foster homes
  • Work occasional evenings or weekends to meet family needs and support events or outreach
  • Join an on-call weekend rotation providing continuous emergency and urgent support to foster families in the Columbia area

Requirements

  • Hold a valid driver’s license
  • Meet department-specific credentialing, licensing, and privileging standards
  • Have a bachelor’s degree in social work or a related discipline
  • Bring at least two years of relevant professional experience
  • Use Microsoft Office Suite applications proficiently
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Qualify as a Qualified Professional in South Carolina
  • Pass a drug screening
  • Complete an extensive background check
  • Be able to work primarily with clients in Columbia, South Carolina
  • Show a strong commitment to working with youth and adolescents
