Field Service Technician, Industrial Packaging Equipment

Install, troubleshoot, and repair MULTIVAC packaging and processing equipment at customer sites across the Northeast. The role includes customer training, service documentation, and frequent overnight travel.

Description

  • Install and troubleshoot customized packaging and processing machinery at customer sites.
  • Repair equipment to meet customer specifications with speed and care.
  • Resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and robotic system issues.
  • Teach customers safe equipment operation, maintenance, and parts ordering.
  • Share service team contact details for future support and parts requests.
  • Confirm customers understand equipment operation and safety procedures.
  • Document repairs and submit trip expenses within 24 hours after each job.
  • Submit accurate weekly expense reports and timesheets on schedule.
  • Manage expenses with cost awareness.
  • Travel to customer sites, with overnight stays on most workdays.
  • Work flexible schedules, including 10 days on and 4 days off, or Monday through Friday with one working weekend each month.

Requirements

  • Bring strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Be able to diagnose complex, large-scale machinery across mechanical, electrical, and operational systems.
  • Have substantial electrical and mechanical experience.
  • Bring pneumatic and machine shop skills.
  • Be able to interpret technical drawings.
  • Have electromechanical knowledge.
  • Solve complex problems effectively.
  • Work independently.
  • Provide excellent customer service and conduct yourself professionally.
  • Remain effective in high-pressure environments.
  • Adapt to changing or unfamiliar situations.
  • Be willing to travel on short notice.
  • Be willing to work outside standard hours, including some weekends.
  • Be able to stay overnight on most workdays.
  • Be able to stand, walk, handle objects, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Have close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
