Field Service Engineer - Leeds and Wakefield | SWARCO

Service and repair SWARCO electric vehicle charging infrastructure across Leeds and Wakefield. Diagnose electrical, hardware, software, and network faults while supporting customers and field teams.

Description

  • Perform daily servicing and maintenance on customer EV charging stations
  • Identify and resolve electrical, hardware, software, and network faults
  • Carry out repairs, including replacing defective parts and components
  • Assist with installation, commissioning, preventative maintenance, upgrades, and warranty work
  • Deliver remote technical support to customers and field teams
  • Keep service records, daily worksheets, and company vehicle mileage records accurate
  • Control and replenish spare-parts stock
  • Work with technical, engineering, and customer service teams
  • Support service and maintenance contracts, response times, and service-level commitments
  • Complete all work safely in line with company procedures and applicable electrical and EV charging standards
  • Take part in an on-call rota of approximately one week in five, running Monday to Monday

Requirements

  • At least two years of experience in technical support or field service engineering
  • Demonstrated experience servicing, maintaining, and repairing equipment
  • Proficiency with a multimeter and continuity testing
  • Hands-on approach with confidence using tools
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Clear communication skills, including explaining technical issues effectively
  • Full UK manual driving licence
  • Legal right to live and work in the UK
  • No more than three points on the driving licence
  • Experience in EV charging, automotive, clean energy, or electrical engineering is desirable
  • Experience with charging infrastructure or comparable electrical equipment is desirable
  • Remote technical support experience is desirable
  • Experience participating in on-call or out-of-hours support rotas is desirable
  • Relevant engineering qualifications or technical training are desirable
