Field Sales Application Engineer — Remote, United States

Field Sales Application Engineer supporting ASSA ABLOY’s electronic access control portfolio. The role combines technical sales, system design, demonstrations, partner training, and field deployment support for integrators, consultants, and end users.

Description

  • Work with regional sales teams to provide technical guidance from initial discovery through deployment
  • Lead product demonstrations, system design discussions, and technical presentations for integrators, consultants, and end users
  • Help A&E firms and security consultants develop specifications that incorporate ASSA ABLOY solutions
  • Contribute to architectures involving readers, controllers, credentials, and cloud or on-premises software
  • Support product evaluations, pilot installations, and hands-on troubleshooting in the field
  • Act as a technical authority for Control iD and electronic access control technologies, including biometric, mobile, and IP-based systems
  • Collect market feedback on competitors, customer requirements, and developing trends to inform product and marketing plans
  • Deliver technical training for integrators and channel partners
  • Work with product management, support, and engineering teams to address issues and strengthen the product offering

Requirements

  • Bring 3–7 or more years of experience in sales engineering, applications engineering, or technical support within electronic access control or physical security
  • Understand access control hardware and software, including RFID, mobile and biometric credentials, readers, controllers, and management platforms
  • Know networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, PoE, and VLANs
  • Understand core system integration principles
  • Have experience working with systems integrators, security consultants, and enterprise end users
  • Translate technical capabilities into customer value and measurable business outcomes
  • Communicate effectively in technical presentations and customer-facing discussions
  • Be prepared to travel approximately 30–50% within the assigned region
  • Experience with Control iD or comparable biometric/IP-based access control platforms is preferred
  • Familiarity with UL 294, OSDP, and SIA protocols is preferred
  • Experience supporting cloud access control products and mobile credential ecosystems is preferred
  • Background in low-voltage system design or installation is preferred
  • English/Spanish or English/Portuguese bilingual ability is a plus
