Field Engineer - Massachusetts Hybrid

Support construction oversight and engineering coordination for infrastructure projects primarily in Massachusetts. The role focuses on field verification, documentation, quality control, construction administration, and resolving design or site issues.

Description

  • Verify that construction work conforms to design plans and specifications as the site representative
  • Record detailed field notes, measurements, and documentation
  • Coordinate daily construction activities with project managers, office engineers, contractors, and subcontractors
  • Review drawings, specifications, and technical documents for accuracy and constructability
  • Track project progress and quantities while preparing daily and weekly field reports
  • Complete submittal reviews and construction administration, including payment requisitions, meeting records, punch lists, RFI responses, and closeout documents
  • Create as-built record drawings for infrastructure projects in AutoCAD
  • Investigate and resolve field problems and design discrepancies with the design team
  • Perform quality control inspections against project specifications and applicable standards
  • Support cost tracking, schedule updates, and change order documentation
  • Contribute to infrastructure projects located primarily in Massachusetts

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related engineering discipline
  • Solid knowledge of construction methods and materials
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or comparable software, or willingness and ability to learn
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Willingness to work outdoors in changing site conditions and travel to project locations as needed
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Local to Massachusetts or willing to relocate there
  • Availability for Monday through Friday, 40-hour workweeks, with occasional overtime
  • Availability for schedules that may begin as early as 7:00 a.m.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future
