Field Application Engineering Intern – Summer 2027, GlobalFoundries (Santa Clara Onsite)
Support customer evaluations, technology adoption, and design wins as a Field Application Engineering Intern at GlobalFoundries. Work with technical teams on semiconductor technologies, tapeouts, and customer-facing documentation.
Description
- Deliver technical support to customers
- Contribute to developing new business opportunities
- Assist with evaluations of GlobalFoundries semiconductor technologies
- Help advance design wins toward tapeouts and first-time-right silicon results
- Learn GlobalFoundries technology offerings through collaboration with internal specialists
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to match GF technologies to customer needs and application requirements
- Assist customers with technical evaluations and tapeout activities alongside GF subject matter experts
- Create customer-facing technical documentation that addresses application and market challenges
- Carry out assigned work safely and responsibly
- Support Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
Requirements
- Be at least a sophomore when applying and pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline through an accredited program during the internship
- Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and good academic standing
- Demonstrate fluency in written and spoken English
- Be available to work at least 40 hours per week throughout the internship
- Previous related internship or co-op experience is preferred
- Previous leadership experience is preferred
- Strong interest in applying AI tools and emerging technologies is preferred
- Project management skills are preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities are preferred
- Strong planning and organizational abilities are preferred
- Coursework in circuit design, semiconductor device physics, or materials science is preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, EDA software, and Linux operating systems is preferred
