External Claims Adjuster – Longueuil, Quebec (Hybrid)
Investigate, assess, and settle insurance claims for Beneva and L’Unique across Quebec. Coordinate stakeholders, evaluate damage, and guide members through the claims resolution process.
Description
- Investigate assigned claims files
- Conduct in-person site visits to collect information and assess damage
- Coordinate the parties involved in each claim
- Determine appropriate claim payments
- Request and obtain estimates
- Review invoices submitted by insured individuals and vendors
- Calculate payable benefits based on policy coverage
- Flag claims involving potential fraud or recovery opportunities for the appropriate teams
- Approve settlements within the applicable payment authority
- Assist members throughout the claims settlement process
Requirements
- Diploma of College Studies or a College Studies Certificate in property and casualty insurance
- At least three years of experience as an external claims adjuster
- Valid personal lines and commercial insurance claims adjuster certificate issued by the Autorité des marchés financiers
- P.A.A. designation or active progress toward obtaining it
- Availability to provide 24/7 claims service under a predetermined on-call schedule for several weeks each year
- Fluent spoken and written French
- Advanced spoken and written English
