Environmental Professional Engineer – Rio Rancho, NM

Parkhill is seeking an Environmental Professional Engineer to lead municipal solid waste and environmental infrastructure projects in Rio Rancho. The role covers permitting, design, construction support, compliance, and client relationships.

Description

  • Lead engineering projects through planning, permitting, design, construction, and closeout.
  • Oversee municipal solid waste, environmental compliance, and related infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare and review engineering reports, permit applications, plans, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Coordinate with TCEQ, NMED, ODEQ, EPA, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Design grading, drainage, stormwater, erosion control, and site development solutions.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, staffing, and client expectations.
  • Review engineering staff work and provide technical guidance.
  • Mentor EITs and junior engineers.
  • Contribute to business development, proposals, client relationship management, and project pursuits.
  • Act as Engineer of Record and seal engineering documents when appropriate.
  • Work with team members to develop proposals, scopes, and fees.
  • Partner with CADD technicians and EITs to produce construction drawings and specifications.
  • Complete other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, agricultural, biosystems, biological systems, or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • Professional Engineer registration in Texas, New Mexico, or Oklahoma.
  • Capacity to obtain and maintain registration in Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.
  • At least 5 years of progressive engineering experience; 7 or more years preferred.
  • Background in environmental permitting and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience managing projects and client relationships.
  • Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to develop proposals, scopes, and fees.
  • Ability to work with CADD technicians and EITs to produce construction drawings and specifications.
