Engineering Manager API Platforms Malmö Hybrid

Description
- Lead, coach, and mentor a co-located team of four software engineers
- Support team members’ career progression and technical growth
- Set the technical strategy and roadmap for the API Gateway that powers Sinch products
- Maintain high standards for platform performance, scalability, and reliability
- Lead the design, development, and company-wide rollout of a centralized Event Delivery Platform over the next 6 to 12 months
- Improve measurable results through team health and performance management
- Drive adoption of the platform across SMS, Voice, Conversation API, and Numbers product lines
- Retire legacy systems within the first year
- Represent the team as its primary technical advocate
- Partner with product managers, designers, and engineering teams to align priorities and promote shared best practices across Sinch
Requirements
- Technical leadership experience, typically as a Tech Lead, Software Architect, Staff Engineer, or Principal Engineer, with a record of designing and operating highly available backend platform services
- Engineering management experience is helpful but not required
- Strong command of the Java and Kotlin ecosystem, especially Spring
- Experience with cloud-native technologies including AWS, Kubernetes, and microservices architectures
- In-depth knowledge of software architecture, API gateways, and event-driven distributed systems
- Experience building and operating large-scale critical infrastructure platforms with a focus on quality, reliability, and operational excellence
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to influence stakeholders and drive adoption of shared services across engineering teams
- Commitment to people management, coaching, and team development
- Based locally or willing to commute to the Malmö office
- Able to submit an application in English
